Welcome to the third self-paced course of the Skills Trio Series! Basic digital literacy is crucial for anyone who finds jobs on digital labour platforms. This course will equip you with a range of basic digital skills starting from finding jobs on platforms, completing online tasks, marketing your services and using mobile apps such as digital wallets, project management and communication tools.
Digital Skills are a must for any platform-based gig worker. These include downloading and registering on relevant apps, creating profiles and personal brands, online communication with clients, seeking reviews, identifying the right platform, submitting necessary documents, using online maps, contacting clients via SMS or phone and requesting reviews.
In this course, we offer a foundation in digital literacy to empower gig workers to effectively leverage digital tools, find work on platforms and use digital resources. For some workers, this knowledge may also enhance their productivity, customer feedback and open doors to new opportunities.
Who is this course for?
This course is for online freelancers, location-based gig worker and anyone who is interested to gain competency in basic digital skills for platform-based gig work. It is highly relevant for those who are currently working as online freelancers or offering location-based professional services like homa-based care, beauty, riders, couriers, online tutors, cleaners, plumbers, or electricians.
What will you learn?
Using principles of micro-learning (short 10 min lessons) ; you will gain insights about information and data literacy, effective online communication and collaboration, digital content creation and organizing tools and online safety and security. The course is designed to orient and inform you about these essential digital skills and offer useful and practical tips and hints for further upskilling.
By completing the module, you will gain a strong understanding of digital basics for gig work, empowering you to thrive in the dynamic gig economy confidently.
