About this course

In this course, you will be exposed to the basics of online facilitation, namely what the process involves, as well as a useful model that you can adopt into your own practice. You will also become familiar with the role and tasks of an online facilitator including how you can motivate your participants and give meaningful feedback. We also introduce some exciting online communication tools for synchronous and asynchronous communication that might be helpful for you.

This course is for learning designers, online facilitators, online moderators and anyone interested in digital learning and online facilitation.

  • Distinguish between synchronous and asynchronous online facilitation
  • Explain Gilly Salmon's 5-stage model of online facilitation
  • Identify various roles, functions and tasks of online facilitators
  • Distinguish between the various tools of online communication
  • Give constructive feedback
