This self-paced course introduces new ways of thinking about seed systems by considering the five basic functions that drive seed systems, the different actors (players), their objectives and relationships as well as the process for collaborative learning by diverse seed-system actors that facilitates their engagement in identifying and implementing innovations.

Who is this course for? 

Farmers, breeders, scientists in crop research, extension service providers, agriculture service providers, farmers organizations, managers of seed enterprises and certification agencies, seed growers, seed sellers

What will you learn? 

In 3 modules, you will be able to learn about the following topics:

  • How can actors collaborate for sustainable seed system development? (Module 1)
  • Sustainable seed quality improvement through collaborative learning (Module 2)
  • Inclusive seed and information dissemination (inclusive seed business models) (Module 3)

How much time do you need to invest? Every module takes approximately 15 to 25 minutes. This means the total duration of the course is one (1) hour.

Course Certificate: Upon completion you will receive an atingi certificate.
