In this self-paced course you will learn what constitutes decent and fair work in the gig economy. The course is part of a self-paced training programme of 8 courses, in which policymakers and key stakeholders in business and civil society, will learn smart policy responses in the era of the platform economy and reap the benefits of best practices of the gig economy. You will explore the principles and frameworks of decent and fair work. You will also analyse both the opportunities and challenges that can accrue to gig workers and explore the spectrum of options to improve working conditions.
Who is this course for?
This course has been designed for policy stakeholders and other key stakeholders in business and civil society, including but not limited to technical advisors, legislators, trade unions, employer organisations and social partners involved in the digital labour market.
What will you learn?
This course will equip you with the knowledge to develop smart policy responses in the era of the platform economy and understand the best practices of the gig economy. This 4th module focuses on the opportunties and challenges gig work holds for platform workers. It explores different apporaches and frameworks of fair and decent work. It shows how these principles can be implemented in practice and dives deep into different policy options for supporting fair work on digital labour platforms.
