About this course

In this self-paced course you will grasp why digital labour platforms have sparked regulatory attention and why it is beneficial for all stakeholders to think about policy approaches. Further you will get to know some of the policy areas, questions and country examples explored in this course. This course is part of a programme of 8 Modules for policymakers and key stakeholders in business and civil society, who will learn smart policy responses in the era of the platform economy and reap the benefits of best practices of the gig economy. The modules of this programme can be taken individually in your order of preference.


Who is this course for?

This course has been designed for policy stakeholders and other key stakeholders in business and civil society, including but not limited to technical advisors, legislators, trade unions, employer organisations and social partners involved in the digital labour market. 


What will you learn?

This course will equip you to develop smart policy responses in the era of the platform economy and reap the benefits of best practices of the gig economy. This 2nd module focuses on the question why digital labour platforms have sparked reuglatory intererest and why it might be beneficial for all stakeholders to regulate platforms. Further, you will be introduced to some of the main policy areas covered from Module 3 to 8.
