In this self-study course, you’ll learn how to enable SMEs understand the relevance of environmental, social and governance considerations to their enterprises’ very existence and overall sustainability. The course is also aimed at supporting them to gain a deeper knowledge of ESG, to better appreciate how to mitigate the inherent risks as well as identify opportunities for their enterprises’ business case. The course draws the enterprises’ attention to a greater appreciation of the wider community in which it operates not just for the short run, but importantly how it can impact it positively in the long run. It is also important to support SMEs to learn how to put up a fit for purpose ESG Framework based on their size and level of growth.
Finally, the course will enable SMEs to learn what ESG goals are and why their businesses need them.
Who is this course for?
The course is intended for SMEs in all sectors (Agribusiness, Manufacturing, Trade Services), particularly in Uganda though it could apply to the same across borders. Though just about any staff member of the enterprise can benefit from skills garnered, it would be most useful for enterprises’ transformation if the decision makers – Shareholders, Directors and Executives could attend, complete this course, and implement some immediate changes for their sustainability ambitions.
