About this course

In this self-paced course, participants will learn how to address gender in Alternative Development projects. 

Who is this course for?
The course is aimed at employees of government authorities in Latin American and Caribbean countries, who are responsible for the planning and implementation of Alternative Development measures. It is also open for everybody who is interested in the intersection of Alternative Development and gender.

What will you learn?
After completing this course, you will be able to
  • name the most important gender-related definitions and explain gender norms and roles in drug crop cultivation areas (Module 1)
  • assess gender in Alternative Development projects through a baseline study (Module 2)
  • identify and address the most prominent gender-based constrains in the context of Alternative Development projects in Latin America and the Caribbean (Modul 3)
  • integrate gender-responsive approaches throughout the planning and implementation of Alternative Development projects (Modul 4)

How much time do you need?
You will need approximately around three hours to complete this course. Every module takes 30-60 minutes.

Course certification
You will earn a certificate once you complete all four modules and pass the final test.
