This self-paced course will explore differences and similarities between classic forms of employment and other forms of work. It will discuss the nature of informal work as well as challenges stemming from the legal status of platform workers. This course is part of a programme of 8 Modules for policymakers and key stakeholders in business and civil society, who will learn smart policy responses in the era of the platform economy and reap the benefits of best practices of the gig economy. The modules of this programme can be taken individually in your order of preference.
This course has been designed for policy stakeholders and other key stakeholders in business and civil society, including but not limited to technical advisors, legislators, trade unions, employer organisations and social partners involved in the digital labour market.
What will you learn?
This course will equip you to develop smart policy responses in the era of the platform economy and reap the benefits of best practices of the gig economy. This module in particular will teach you how to deal with other forms of work and their impact on the labour market. It will also help you understand the challenges arising from the legal situation of platform workers.
