About this course

In this self-paced course, anyone will learn about trafficking in persons (TiP) and Smuggling of Migrants (SoM), the definitions of TiP and SoM, global legal frameworks for TiP and SoM and the difference between the two crimes. It will take you about 1 hour to complete this course and you will earn a PDF certificate once you complete all modules and pass a final test.


Who is this course for?

This course is for anyone interested to learn about human trafficking and smuggling of migrants. It was developed for civil society staff in the Horn of Africa, but will also interest government officials working on migration and human mobility, law enforcement officers and students studying migration, demographics, development or political sciences.


What will you learn?

You will be able to define TiP and SoM and distinguish between the two crimes. You will also be able to name the relevant global legal frameworks covering TiP and SoM and know their status of implementation. You may apply this knowledge within the context of investigating and prosecuting TiP and SoM crimes or in protecting its victims.
