About this course



In this self-paced course, you as an extension officer, teacher, trainer, ministry staff or agripreneur will learn about farms as economic units and enterprises, management tools for planning, analysis, investment decision making, monitoring of your business, and when to apply which tool and how to use them in your own enterprise. It will take you about 1 - 3 hours to complete on session of this course, hence a max. of 18 h for the whole course, and you will earn a PDF certificate once you passed all the quizzes with at least 50% of the points.

This is a course of the Agribusiness e-Academy developed by Agri-Business Facility for Africa (ABF)!

"Agriculture as a Business" offers 6 self-paced consecutive training sessions and 1 bonus session. So far session 1-4 are available. Sessions 5-6 and the bonus material will be uploaded in 2023. But don't worry - you can already start your learning journey. Of course, you will receive a certificate for each successfully completed session and for the whole course.

Who is this course for?

This course is intended for extension officers, teachers, (master) trainers, ministry staff but of course you can also study it if you are an agripreneur or have a general interest in the topic. You do not need any other courses as prerequisites.

What will you learn? 

In this course you will learn about farms as economic units and enterprises, and management tools for planning, analysis, investment decision making, monitoring and evaluation of your business, and when to apply which tool and how to use them in your own enterprise.

How much time do you need to invest? In the introduction of each session, you can see how much time you will need -  between 1 and 3 hours.

Course Certificate: After you successfully completed the whole course and passed a final quiz, you will receive an PDF course certificate with your grade on it.
