Bridging this gap is vital to promoting inclusive economic growth, allowing diverse segments to partake in the digital economy, contributing to overall development. Policymakers and regulators play a pivotal role by investing in infrastructure, promoting affordability, and implementing digital literacy programs to ensure widespread access and participation in the digital and green transition. These policies and regulations serve as frameworks to facilitate good practice and mitigate against risks in the pursuit of an inclusive and sustainable digital future.
This is a key issue for
digital transformation policies. This course will introduce you to the
topic area, covering the aspects of the availability of broadband
infrastructure, the challenge of affordability of access and the
connection to digital skills and awareness. It has the aim of providing a
broad reflection on the causes of the digital divide as a basis for
reflection on good practices in regluation and policymaking.
Target audience: This is an overview course with a focus on people working in or interested in regulation and policymaking in digital transformation.
